Closedown
Closedown is one of these lost institutions. Classically on BBC One you would get a little bit of chat about 'Thank you for being with us today'.

Then they would go to the globe and play the national anthem.

The picture would fade out... you would get this annoying tone for five minutes or so and then everything was switched off.
