Synopsis
As the battle moves inland and the cities begin to experience bombing, Philip Joubert realises that he should address the growing sense of defeatism among the population in his broadcasts on the conduct of the war.
Did you know?
After the Allies bombed Berlin, a furious Hitler changed tactics and diverted attacks on Britain's airfields and coastline to the cities inland. The Blitz began in September 1940, but the breathing space it granted the RAF to repair its airfields and planes gave them a much-needed advantage and proved crucial to the eventual outcome of the Battle of Britain.
