It was always a known fact that I would end up working in the textile field because we, as a family, have been in it for six generations. Having said that, let's say for any reason if I hadn't joined the family business, I would probably have ended up working in the chemical field. And I remember at university my first year I studied chemical engineering and I later decided to change over to international business administration because that was deemed to be more useful for my future role.

فيما يلي خمسة مواقف تليها جمل شرطية في الماضي غير كاملة. أكمل كل جملة باختيار الصيغة الصحيحة من القائمة أدناه بالضغط عليها.

في البداية استخدم فراس عبارة فعلية شائعة هي :
" to end up "
ينتهي الأمر إلى (أو عندما يحدث شيئ دون قدر كبير من التخطيط) وقال فراس
"كانت حقيقة معروفة دائما أن الأمر سينتهي بي إلى العمل في مجال النسيج -
I would end up working
in the textile field "
ثم يقول فراس متكهنا بما كان سيحدث إن لم يعمل مع أسرته في مجال المنسوجات. وقال
"إن لم أعمل مع إلى عمل الأسرة، ربما انتهى بي الأمر إلى العمل في مجال الكيمياويات -
If I hadn't joined the family business, I would probably have ended up working in the chemical field ".
وهذا مثال على جملة الشرط في الماضي التي يوجد فيها جزءان أو عبارتان: الأول الشرط ويبدأ بكلمة
"if"
تتبعها "had" + اسم المفعول: "
If I hadn't joined "
الجزء الثاني هو الجواب ويتكون من
" would have " + اسم المفعول:
" I would have ended up ".
ويستخدم هذا النوع من جمل الشرط في الحديث عن الماضي افتراضيا.
