• The wait goes on for Strachan and Cooper 10:54am on 30 Nov 2009 I believe that once we get our first win under Strachan then we will go on a run. It's QPR on Saturday at Loftus Road. We've never ever won there in League or Cup in 19 attempts. It's a nailed on 3 points!
  As regards the GS comments. The agreed abbreviation on messageboards and the local media for Strachan appears to have become GS2.
• Fixture and frettings 3:55pm on 18 Jun 2009 Dragoneyes, If you've seen Yorkshire CCC play a home game at Stockton then you'd better let them know.
  They're official website lists the grounds they ever played at:

  Yorkshire also have played matches at Abbeydale, Darnall and Hyde Park all Sheffield), Holbeck and Hunslet (Leeds), Wakefield, Dewsbury, York, Halifax, Huddersfield, Hull, Barnsley and Middlesbrough.
  
• Fixture and frettings 2:20pm on 18 Jun 2009 Dragoneyes, Yorkshire have never played a "home" game at Stockton Cricket Ground.
  Stockton-on-Tees is north of the river and has been stated is Durham CCC territory.
  Yorkshire played at Acklam Park in Middlesbrough although apart from the odd game at Scarborough they no longer rotate their home games to Sheffield, Middlesbrough etc.
  In the good old days when you had to be born in Yorkshire to play for Yorkshire CCC, being born in Middlesbrough still counted even when Cleveland came into existance.
  Middlesbrough itself is a Yorkshire town.
  However having siad all that I'd never class Middlesbrough v Sheff Utd/Wed/Barnsley/Rotherham/Doncaster/Hull as a football derby.
  Leeds is still classed in some Boro quarters as a derby but that is always cause for debate too.

• Ski Sunday returns 4:12pm on 14 Jan 2009 Whilst I have always watched Ski Sunday for the racing, I did also enjoy watching the non race stuff last season. However the racing is the shows bread and butter so the way you've gone this year seems a good shout.
  I wondered if you have any plans to feature a report on those inspirational guys and gals who will be flying the flag for Team GB at the Winter Special Olympics in Boise Idaho in February?

  It was always Heine Otto for me mind.
• Lords lunch proves unpalatable for Brooking 08:08am on 23 Nov 2008 Following on from a point sirsamus made. Middlesbrough's Academy work is well documented. What they have also done is form a link with the Teesside Junior Football Alliance League. It is one of the biggest in the UK and Europe. Any Teesside lads playing professional football have come through the TJFA. In the past some players, most notably Woodgate have slipped through the net. Now Boro help sponsor the league and they work with the league to ensure any talent comes their way first and introduced into the academy system from 7 years old onwards. Incentives to the youth football clubs of discounted match tickets also helps with attracting the next generation of Boro fans. When you have limited resources, developing local youth seems a no brainer. It was Bryan Robson who instigated Boro's set up and it took 10 years or so to start bearing fruit, it doesn't happen overnight and this is why we need to get an organised national programme as soon as possible..
