BBC Trust: Taking part

BBC Trustee Elan Closs Stephens meeting members of the public
Trustees meet with members of the public to solicit their views and opinions, and can also discuss issues with outside experts for independent and objective advice. Picture shows National Trustee for Wales and Chair of Audience Council Wales Elan Closs Stephens.

The Trust's duty is to represent all licence fee payers. To do so we must engage with all audiences to understand their views and thus take them into account in making our decisions. We do this through our national Audience Councils as well as engaging directly through public consultations and many other mechanisms. Here we look at how we've worked with audiences over the year, give an overview of the work of the Audience Councils, and look ahead to work planned for 2011/12.
