The BBC Trust, as the governing body of the BBC, is quite separate from the Executive which manages the BBC's day-to-day operations.
Our job is to represent licence fee payers and make sure the Executive delivers the high-quality programmes and services our public wants, while ensuring that the BBC is accountable and open. We also protect the independence of the BBC from commercial or political influence.
