About Battersea and the Lost and Found service
During the series we'll be meeting the people from Battersea who work to reunite lost dogs and cats with their owners.
If you have lost a dog or a cat, or have found a dog or cat, and live within the M25 area, please contact Battersea's Lost Dogs & Cats Line. The service is open seven days a week from 8am to 8pm.
Over 3 000 stray dogs and cats were reunited with their owners in 2005, thanks to the Lost Dogs and Cats Line. The service was launched in July 2000 in conjunction with the Metropolitan Police. They use a special computer system to log reports of dogs and cats lost within the M25, and try to match them to reports of dogs and cats found in the same area.
Around 9,300 dogs and cats were brought into Battersea Dogs & Cats Home as strays during 2004, of which nearly 2,200 were reunited with their owners at the Home.
