Black Coat

Contributed by Martyn

This was my father's coat. He bought it in Liverpool in 1960. Coats like this were built to last and they often got passed from generation to generation, as in my case. I think my mother made my father buy this coat - like lots of men, shopping wasn't his idea of fun! However the coat was certainly worth the investment - I am still getting plenty of wear out of it today. Nowadays more people appear to be returning to the principles of make do and mend rather than buying lots of clothes that have been imported from overseas.
