Candle holder

Contributed by Wessex Water

The Bridport Water Works Act 1872 authorised the taking of water from the springs at Litton Cheney for Bridport's first public water supply. Found in the adit in 1984, the candle holder was used to light the tunnelling works constructing the adit from which the spring water was abstracted.
