Dish commemorating Yorkshire

This dish comes from Withernsea, Yorkshire, and was bought in 1955. It shows a motto to describe the Yorkshire approach to life.
'Hear all, see all, say nowt,
Eat all, sup all, pay owt,
And if tha ever does owt for nowt,
Allus do it for thisen'
