First World War Handmade Cusion Cover

This is proudly owned by me Ann Burton and was found inside a cedar chest underneath several other objects during a pre-auction clearout of my mothers house. It was made by my Grandfather John Henry Selvey (known as Harry) whilst he was in the trenches in France in 1910 for my Grandmother. I remember her proudly displaying it as a chair-back for a cane rocking chair (that nobody was allowed to sit on!) throughout my childhood. it is made from cotton cloth with silk collectors 'cards' of flags from around the world sown in to the front. I am unsure what was originally in the centre, but it was probably an embroidered picture or photo.
