Yoke for carrying buckets

When I was a child I remember an old lady csrrying buckets of water from a pump in the village to her house. She had no mains water and six children. She used a yoke to carry the buckets of water. The pumps, now disconnected, are still in the village but in a generation that way of life has disappeared
