Machinegun Corps cap badge with RND rock

This is my Grandfathers WW1 cap badge. I also have his book which details his part in the conflict.
The Machine Gun Corps (MGC) formed in 1915 disbanded in 1922. Companies were attatched to Divisions and he served with the Royal Naval Division. The unit was made up of RN reservists for whom there were no ships to serve in.
