Bronze Medieval Imp/Devil

Bronze Medieval Imp/Devil

The item was found by a metal detector in Tweksbury (after the flood) It seems to be a devil or a imp. Seems that it's meant to scare who ever looks at it. What amazes me about the item is the detail in the hair and face. I would imagine it was part of a larger item, maybe a large decorated piece of furniture? If you could shed any light on what this object may be or represent, then please get in touch.
