a knitted teddy bear

It is a cliché that 'we did not have all those toys when I was young' but perhaps my chosen object shows that we did not really mind. My brother was born in 1942 and his aunt knitted him a teddy bear because new toys were unavailable. He and I shared and loved this bear and it has been repaired and restuffed and most importantly, kept, unlike any other toy that we had subsequently that was manufactured or more beautiful. Well, I think he is beautiful, Bear (never named). The aunt and my brother are both dead but bear lives on, a survivor, nearly 70.
