Persian / Turkish 18k Gold Pocket Watch

Made from 18K Gold.

It appears to be fine quality pocket watch dial.

The enameled Time characters show both Arabic symbols and function codes.

It would have been seated onto the frame of the watch

This created a small window through which the face of the dial and hands would be visible.

This large and broad dial would have provided protection for the delicate watch crystal which would have been visible in the center.

I do not have the watch and I suspect this dial was salvaged from it during the great gold melt of the 1980's when gold reached $800.00 an ounce.
