This photograph of the ancient city of Troy was taken by my grandfather Haywood Magee on Thursday 9 August 1923 from an altitude of 2000ft, probably from a Bristol Fighter. He was serving with 4 Squadron, RAF following the 1922 Chanak Crisis. I will also place an oblique photograph of Troy and an aerial photograph of ancient Abydos, Turkey on this site.
