The XK 120 was designed in 3 months by Sir William Lyons as a test bed for his new 6 cylinder twin OHC engine. Launched at the 1948 Motor Show to a war-weary Britain, the XK120 with its sleek lines and 120 mph performance was a sensation. The new power plant also went on to major competition success, including 5 wins at le Mans in C and D types in the 1950's. The XK120 embodies the finest features of British styling and engineering as well as providing a wonderful legacy for Sir William Lyons, one of Britain's great post war designers and industrialists. I bought this car in 2002.
