This is a ledger containing the details of multiple contracts held on the River Wear in the mid nineteenth century. It holds details of sluice gates, graving docks, coal staiths, and the swing bridge. The book remains in Sunderland at the Sunderland Maritime Heritage. Sunderland has a rich marine heritage, but the various artifacts are not held in one place at present.
