Orchestre Baka de Gbine - Gati Bongo

(March Hare Music/ MAHACD 23)

Orchestre Baka de Gbine Gati Bongo

On their first venture outside their forest home, the newly formed super-group 'Orchestre Baka de Gbine' (that being Baka Beyond and seven Baka musicians) present a collection of brilliant, uplifting music, recorded on a mobile solar-powered studio in the rainforests of Cameroon. The opening track 'Gati Bongo' is the closest thing to pure Gospel you'll ever hear, direct from the source, Mother Africa, whilst the rest of the album is a rare teat of earthy foot-stompers.
