MyDisplay Release 1.3 (trial release) - May 24th 2011

Release 1.3 of MyDisplay includes the following bug fix:

  • fix to problems with retrieving themes stored in BBC iDs - this functionality is now back working to allow you to use your stored themes across browsers, computers and mobile phones

MyDisplay Release 1.2 (trial release) - May 18th 2011

Release 1.2 of MyDisplay includes the following new features requested by our users:

  • MyDisplay toolbar which displays at the top of all bbc.co.uk pages when you have MyDisplay turned on and allows you to:
    • quickly turn MyDisplay on and off when viewing a page, if you don't need MyDisplay to transform that page, without having to re-enter your preferences
    • quickly bring up the MyDisplay control panel without needing to return to the MyDisplay website
    • quickly let the BBC know if the page they are viewing doesn't look right in MyDispay

Release 1.2 also includes bug fixes for:

  • surplus text appearing on BBC mobile homepage

MyDisplay Release 1.1 (trial release) - April 15th 2011

Release 1.1 of MyDisplay includes:

  • the ability to move the MyDisplay Control Panel from the left of the browser window to the right of the window, so you can get a better preview of the changes MyDisplay could make to the page you are viewing
  • bug fix for previous problem with the close button
  • bug fix for previous problem with external links

MyDisplay Release 1.0 (trial release) - December 16th 2010

Release 1.0 of MyDisplay includes themes that we have found to help:

  • people who have difficulty with reading or are dyslexic
  • people who have limited vision
  • people who have ADHD
  • people who have Asperger’s

It also allows you to create your own theme by selecting your choice of:

  • text size, spacing, font and style
  • text and background colour
  • how links should look
  • how images should be displayed
  • original or list view

It also allows you to store your theme in a BBC iD so you can use your theme on any computer you use.

September 16th 2011: My Display Trial Closes – The BBC would like to thank all the participants and organisations involved in the user trial and for their expertise, input and valued feedback. All the insights gained from the trial will enable further research and investigation into interface customisation for people with vision and cognitive disabilities.

May 24th 2011: Release 1.3 of MyDisplay goes live - problems with BBC iD retrieval of themes now fixed

May 18th 2011: Release 1.2 of MyDisplay goes live - New toolbar makes it easier to turn MyDisplay on/off and change theme when viewing different pages
