Magnifying the screen

If increasing the text size via the browser or Mac OS options does not make text easy to read then the next step is to magnify the screen

Already on your computer

If you have Mac OS 8 or 9 you can use a magnifier called ' CloseView ' while OS X has an inbuilt feature called ' Zoom ' which can help some people more easily read text on the screen.
