Making text larger in Firefox

Below are the step-by-step instructions on how to increase the text size in Firefox

Follow these steps to increase or decrease the size of the text for the web page you are viewing:

  1. Open the ' View ' menu with the mouse or by press ' Alt ' + ' V '.
  2. Click ' Text Size ' or press ' Alt ' + ' S '.
  3. Click on ' Increase ' or ' Decrease' to change the text size or press the right arrow to expand the ' Text Size' menu options and use the up and down arrow to select ' Increase ' or ' Decrease' and then press ' Enter '.
  4. Alternatively you can press ' Ctrl ' + ' + ' (plus) to increase the text size, ' Ctrl ' + ' - ' (minus) to decrease the text size. ' Ctrl ' + ' 0 ' returns you to the default size.

Follow these steps to set a minimum text size for all pages you visit:

  1. Open the ' Edit ' menu with the mouse or press ' Alt '+' E' .
  2. Click on ' Preferences', or press ' N '.
  3. Make sure that the ' General ' option is selected - if not either click on it or press ' Tab' until it is highlighted and then press the ' Enter' key.

  1. Click the ' Fonts and Colors ' button as highlighted in Fig 1 or press ' F ' to display the ' Fonts and Colors ' dialog box (Fig 2).

  1. Click on ' Minimum font size ' box or press ' Alt '+' Z ' . Use the up and down arrows to select a new font size and press ' Enter ' - see Fig 3.
  2. Click on ' Always use my:' 'Fonts ' checkbox, or ' Tab' to the checkbox and press the ' Spacebar ' to put a tick in it.
  3. Click the ' OK ' button or press ' Enter ' to return to ' Preferences '.
  4. Click the ' OK ' button or pressTab ' until ' OK ' is highlighted and press ' Enter ' to return to Firefox.

Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help.
