Using your keyboard one-handed in KDE

This section explains how you can change KDE settings to make using the keyboard one-handed easier

Instructions

  1. Click on the ' K' icon on the menu tab, or press the ' Windows ' logo key (located between the ' Ctrl ' + ' Alt ' keys on most keyboards) alternatively press ' Alt ' + ' F1 ' .
  2. Click on ' Control Center ' or press ' C ' and then ' Enter '.
  3. Click on ' Regional & Accessibility' or use the ' Tab' key to highlight ' Appearance & Themes ' in the left-hand panel and then use the ' down ' arrow key to select ' Regional & Accessibility ' and then press the ' right ' arrow key to expand the options list (see Fig 1).
  4. Click on ' Accessibility ' or press the ' down ' arrow to highlight ' Accessibility ' and then press ' Enter'.
  5. Under ' Accessibility ' click on the ' Keyboard ' tab or press 'Alt' + ' K' (see Fig 1).

  1. Click on the the checkbox next to ' Use sticky keys' or press ' Tab ' to highlight the checkbox and then press the ' Spacebar' ( Alternatively press ' Alt ' + ' S '), to put a tick in the box.
  2. Click on ' Apply ' or press ' Alt ' + ' A', to confirm your changes.
  3. Click the close button on the ' Accessibility - Control Center ' window or press ' Ctrl ' + ' Q ' to return to the desktop.

Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help.
