How to change the fonts in Internet Explorer 7 for Windows

This page explains step-by-step how to change the fonts in the Internet Explorer 7 web browser running on Windows systems for every time you surf the internet.

Change your fonts in Internet Explorer 7

Step 1: Open the 'Accessibility' window

Click on 'Tools' in the menu bar and then 'Internet Options' from the drop-down menu, or press Alt + T and then press O. You should now see the 'Internet Options' window shown in Fig 1.

If the 'General' tab is not already selected, click on it, or press Ctrl + Tab to cycle through the tabs until it is selected.

Click on the 'Accessibility' button, or press Alt + E, to open the 'Accessibility' window shown in Fig 2.

Step 2: Choose your fonts just for Internet Explorer

To tell Internet Explorer to use your font choice, tick the box next to 'Ignore font styles specified on webpages' by clicking on it, or press Alt + S to tick it.

Click the 'OK' button or press Enter to return to the 'Internet Options' window (Fig 1).

Click on the 'Fonts' button or press Alt + N. This will open the 'Fonts' window shown in Fig 3.

Scroll through the list below the 'Webpage font' header with the mouse and click on the font you want. Or press Alt + W and use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through the list until the font you want is highlighted. In the box below, you should see a sample of the how the selected font will look.

When you are happy with your chosen fonts, click 'OK', or press Enter to return to the 'Internet Options' window (Fig 1).

Click the 'OK' button, or press Tab until it is highlighted and then press Enter, to return to Internet Explorer.

Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help.
