How to change your fonts in Konqueror for KDE 4

This page explains step-by-step how to change the fonts in the Konqueror web browser running on the Linux desktop environment KDE 4.

Change your fonts in Konqueror

Note: If you only want to change the font size temporarily, see the How to make text larger in Konqueror guide.

Step 1: Open the 'Fonts' window

Click on 'Settings' in the menu bar and then 'Configure Konqueror' from the drop-down menu. Or press Alt + S and then press C.

In newer versions of Konqueror, this will open the 'Configure Konqueror' window shown in Fig 1. Click on 'Appearance' in the left-hand pane, or press Shift + Tab until the left-hand pane is highlighted, then use the down arrow to select 'Appearance'. Click on the 'Fonts' tab or press Alt + F.

In older versions of Konqueror, this will open the 'Configure Konqueror' window shown in Fig 2. You need to select 'Fonts' (instead of 'Appearance') directly from the left-hand pane by clicking on it, or by pressing the down arrow key to highlight it and then pressing Enter if necessary.

Step 2: Choose the fonts for all web pages you visit

Click on the drop-down list next to 'Standard font', then scroll through the available fonts and click on the one you want. Or press Tab until the drop-down list is highlighted and then use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through the list until the font you want is highlighted.

Repeat for any of the other font types, if desired.

When you are happy with your changes, click the 'OK' button, or press Tab until it is highlighted and then press Enter, to return to Konqueror.

Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help.
