Making text larger in Opera

Below are the step-by-step instructions on how to increase the text size in Opera

Instructions

Unlike in Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator, Opera can increase the size of images as well as text.

You can quickly increase or decrease the size of both text and graphics using the numberpad ' + ' and ' - ' keys. Each press will increase or decrease the size by 10%. However these changes will not be remembered next time you open Opera.

Follow these steps to increase or decrease the size of the text permanently:

Opera versions 6 and 7

  1. Click on the ' File ' menu or press ' Alt ' + ' F ' .
  2. Click on the ' Preferences ' option or press ' R ' .
  3. If you cannot see ' Page Style ' under the ' Document ' heading as shown in Fig 1 then click on the arrow next to ' Document ' or press ' Tab ' until ' Document ' is highlighted and then press the right arrow to expand the list and then press the down arrow twice to highlight ' Page Style '.

Opera page style Preferences dialog box
Fig 1

  1. Click on the box under ' Default Zoom ' as highlighted in Fig 1 above and when the list pops up click on the font size you want or press ' Alt' + 'Z ' and use the up and down arrows to select the font size you want.
  2. Click ' OK ' or press ' Tab ' until the ' OK ' button is highlighted and then press ' Enter ' to return to Opera.

Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help.
