Creating a monster
Prosthetic artist Neill Gorton talks us through the process of creating a monster, from design stage to set. Here he describes the making of a Silurian, a reptilian creature which appeared on Doctor Who.
Neill is a multi-award winning artist with numerous BAFTA and Royal Television Society awards across make-up and special effects categories. He has worked on countless productions from major studio features to acclaimed television shows like Doctor Who and Being Human.
"When you’re on set there is a lot to consider... you don’t want a Silurian queuing up at the catering bus for their food." – Neill Gorton
