The BBC Production Trainee scheme is the BBC’s fast track traineeship for the brightest and best TV, radio and online producers of the future and being selected is a highly competitive process.
The 2013 trainees all come from a variety of backgrounds including an ex-theatre director, a documentary filmmaker, a university graduate and more.
"I think there is a common misconception with the PTS that it’s going to be quite formal and intimidating but it’s not. Don’t over think things, just be yourself." – Chris Cleary
Each trainee will spend the next 12 months working across three different BBC productions, with placements including Steve Wright in the Afternoon, Front Row, The One Show, Holby City, It Takes Two and Radio 1's Stories.
We find out what convinced them to apply, how they found the application process and what advice they have for future applicants.
