The BBC Radio York team are the first to admit that their corner of North Yorkshire is not a very ‘newsy’ patch. But that hasn’t stopped them from digging out great stories that bigger and more glamorous stations would be proud to break.

News editor Hayley Brewer says her team are pushed to get new top lines, do thorough research, and get strong original stories on air that you won’t hear anywhere else.
