About the BBC Academy

We offer a portfolio of scheduled and bespoke training, including face-to-face courses, and online programmes. A variety of training and development initiatives ensure that our training is relevant and effective, both for the individual and for businesses.

As well as training our own staff, we have a remit under the terms of the BBC's Charter Agreement to train the wider industry. We do this in a number of ways: some of our online learning resources, such as the College of Production and College of Journalism websites, Editorial Standards modules and Safeguarding Trust, are free to users in the UK.

We work with Skillset, the Government-licensed, UK-wide Sector Skills Council for Creative Media, to offer subsidised training to UK media professionals. You can get further information on all of our courses, and on courses from a range of other providers, from Skillset.
