Justine Evans talks about the challenges of night filming

Night time filming is a relatively unexplored area of wildlife documentary making.

As Justine tells us, until recently the night-time filming of animals had to be carried out using lights and loud generators, which disturbs the animals' usual behaviour patterns.

Now image intensifying cameras, thermal cameras, and infra red cameras can be used to film without having to put a spotlight on the wildlife.

After several attempts and a considerable amount of patience, the crew managed to film a dramatic sequence for the multi-award winning series.
