Charlie leads the finance team for the Finance and Operations division which includes: Finance, Technology, Property, Human Resources, Licence Fee Unit, Archive, Legal, Procurement, Internal Audit functions. Charlie’s team is also responsible for financial management of the BBC’s capital plan and the associated capital and business change project portfolio.
The division employs around 1,800 staff who are based all over the UK.
A recent report showed the division have helped deliver £1.1 billion annual savings since 2007. On property, the BBC now occupies 154 buildings down from 213 and plan to save £67m a year by the end of Charter (2017).
