Jo Ball was appointed Commissioning Editor for Features, BBC One and BBC Two in March 2009.

She joined the BBC in January 2009 as Commissioning Editor for Features and Formats (Independents) from Channel 4, where she was the Commissioning Editor for Features.

While at Channel 4, Jo oversaw The F-word, Gok's Fashion Fix, Embarrassing Bodies and Grand Designs, among others.

Prior to this Jo was Creative Director at Ricochet where she was responsible for developing and executive producing It's Me Or The Dog, Born To Be Different and Wanted: New Mum And Dad for Channel 4 and How Not To Decorate for Five.She also developed Blood, Sweat And T-Shirts for BBC Three.

Before joining Ricochet, Jo spent six years with the BBC's Specialist Factual and Entertainment and Features departments as a Series Producer and multi-camera director, working on programmes including Trouble At The Top, The Travel Show, the National Lottery, Back To The Floor and A Question Of Sport.

Jo started her career in television as a Producer on This Morning With Richard and Judy in 1994. During her four years at Granada she also worked on Granada Tonight, Dear Davina and World On A Plate amongst others.
