May 2012: This is the second published workplan from the BBC Executive. It summarises the BBC’s strategy, objectives and outline budget for the year ahead together with noteworthy developments.
The BBC Trust has set four over-arching objectives and actions for the organisation:
- to increase the distinctiveness and quality of its output
- to improve the value for money it provides to licence fee payers
- to do more to serve all audiences
- to set new standards of openness and transparency.
The workplan sets out how these objectives have been translated into actions for BBC management and staff for 2012/13. It is part of the BBC’s commitment to openness and transparency, both to the BBC Trust and to licence fee payers.
The Statements of Programme Policy (SoPPs) (also included in this document) set out the Controller's vision for each of the BBC's services for the coming year and any notable editorial developments or programmes.
