BBC Radio Wales sets out to create compelling, relevant radio for people interested in the life, culture and affairs of Wales
How to develop and pitch ideas for BBC Wales programming output.
It has become increasingly important in a multi-channel environment to maximise the potential for ideas and programmes put forward to BBC Cymru Wales. We need to consider BBC Network, cross genre and cross media potential and think whether a programme would work best on television or radio, whether it could have an interactive element or have shorter spin offs.
Watching BBC Wales' output on BBC One Wales and BBC TWO Wales will help you focus on the types of programmes we produce. You need to understand the slots we are trying to fill and the kind of programmes we are looking for.
Creating greater diversity within our programmes is one of our priorities. We welcome ideas which reflect multicultural aspects of Wales. We are particularly keen to see diversity reflected in all areas of programme making both in the subject matter and in the production process.
Commissioning requirements will be posted regularly on this site.
