Magic Wands - Warrior/Black Magic

Dexy Valentine's part whispered vocal drew me in to Warrior completely. She's joined for the chorus by band mate, competent back vocal provider and her partner in real life Chris Valentine! According to their MySpace page, the Magic Wands come from Fantasy Island, Zaire — nice given that Chris and Dexy Valentine first connected there while Chris was living in Nashville and Dexy in Los Angeles.
They've concocted this and their other tunes with their home recording setup, which is two guitars, a couple effects pedals, a Casio keyboard and an 8-track cassette recorder only. Right now we're hooked and can only hope following US tours with Black Kids and The Virgins they come UK-wards soon...
