Jo Good's Biography

Jo Good is 32, a RAF brat, an equestrian, and a disco enthusiast.

Born in Kuwait, she's lived in Cyprus, Norfolk, Northmberland, Brighton, and London, but it is Manchester she calls home. The rainy city first took her into its moody bosom during the halcyon days of dance music and she lives there still, spending winters working on her mother's stable yard in South Africa whenever possible. She is a mature student too, at Salford University, reading English Lit. Everybody there thinks she's 20. She hasn't said anything.

Jo decided upon her future profession on a school field trip at the age of eleven. She's a right anorak. She finds herself at 6 Music having worked in radio for over a decade. She also did a long stint as an MTV presenter, starting off at TRL before moving on to The Dancefloor Chart. Still partial to a ho-down, if she's not rummaging in charity shops or sneezing in dusty book stores she's usually to be found reaching for the lasers somewhere dimly lit with a Funktion-One. In sequins.

As such her musical tastes are all over the show but include Leftfield, Prince, Kate Bush, Etta James, Jeff Buckley, Frankie Knuckles, Aphex Twin, Bjork, Andrew Weatherall, Underworld, Fourtet, Daft Punk, Greg Wilson, and Fleetwood Mac. She's also finally getting round to the serious matter of her Northern Soul education. She wants Hacienda classics played at her wedding though.
