Chris Hawkins' biographyChris thought his career had hit a career high when he appeared on Ken Bruce’s PopMaster but then came a pair of guest appearances on Harry Hill’s TV Burp on ITV1. Meanwhile, his horrendous eating habits were put under the spotlight in the hour long BBC 3 documentary, Freaky Eaters. Outside of 6Music, Chris also presents shows on speech station, LBC 97.3 and has regularly deputised on Radio 2 and introduced headline acts on stage for Radio 2 live music events. Chris appears on BBC 1 Breakfast TV, News 24 and BBC 3 TV News offering his opinion on music and pop-culture stories. He can often be heard on BBC 5Live and has fronted both the BBC World Service UK Album Chart Show & the UK Top 20. Chris writes a monthly music column in the London magazines, ‘Angel’ and ‘North’ and played himself, badly, in the Manchester and London productions of the play, Funkface. He presented a daily show on GLR 94.9 for over two years and has also presented on Classic Gold, BBC London Live, BBC Radio Nottingham, Jazz FM, Real Radio and American College Radio. Chris began his career at BBC Radio Shropshire and also had a stint at Talk Radio UK. He has DJ’ed at the BAFTA TV Awards, Guardian Media Awards and at venues across the UK and Europe.
