Coldplay have won best British group for the third time at this year's Brit Awards.
The band, who formed in 1996, won it back in 2001 and 2003 and this year were up against, Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, Chase & Status and Elbow.
They got the ceremony going with an energetic performance as Florence + The Machine took to the stage followed by a short video tribute to the late Whitney Houston.
Adele almost "takes it all"
Adele, as expected, was named British female solo artist of the year, beating the likes of Kate Bush and Florence Welch, but also went home with the prestigious Album of the Year - reward for a record-breaking run in the charts with her second album, 21.
The 23-year-old singer, whose hits include Rolling in the Deep and Someone Like You, was presented with the coveted gong by George Michael.
Accepting the award she said: "Nothing makes me prouder than winning 6 Grammy's and then coming here to the Brits and winning Best Female and Best Album."
Unfortunately Adele's speech was cut short, when James Corden interrupted saying they had run out of time.
In other awards, Ed Sheeran was named best British male. US pop star Bruno Mars best international male, Rihanna won best international female and a tearful Lana Del Ray walked home with Best International breakthrough.
As previously announced, Blur received the honour of Outstanding Contribution.
Arriving at the venue, bassist Alex James said: "I feel very grateful but I'm more excited about playing than anything. My heart's actually beating quite fast."
