Brett Anderson has told 6 Music News that he regrets saying Suede will record another album, admitting any talk of new music is still "premature".

The singer, who has just released his new solo album Black Rainbows  has revealed that the band are "throwing demos about", but that is as far as they have taken it so far.

"I think we could make a great record, it's as simple as that," he said.

The band, who had three No.1 albums in the 1990s, split up in 2003, but staged a series of reunion shows in 2010 without Bernard Butler.
