Ian Curtis's Berlin

A tour of the Joy Division frontman's favourite places

Mark Reeder was Factory Records man in Germany when Joy Division played in Berlin in January 1980.

He spent a lot of time with Ian Curtis when he was in the city.

Photographs he took were recently displayed at the Unknown Pleasures exhibition in Macclesfield, marking the 30th anniversary of the singer's death last year.

6 Music's Amy Zayed took a tour around Berlin with Mark Reeder.

They start at the Kantkino an old-fashioned cinema from the late 1920s that was used as a concert venue in the late 70s and early 80s:
