
Arcade Fire's third album The Suburbs has been named 6 Music's album of the year.
It's just one more accolade for the record, which finally helped the band break through, after five years on the fringes of the mainstream.
A sprawling, 16-track concept album about small-town life and the geography of adulthood, it was launched with a celebratory gig at New York's Madison Square Garden, filmed by Terry Gilliam.
Q magazine declared The Suburbs a "masterpiece", Rolling Stone praised its "magnificent" title track, and the record charted at number one on both sides of the Atlantic.
Just before their recent shows at the O2 arena, Win and Will Butler spoke to 6 Music's Sinead Garvan about the album, its reception, and their highlights from 2010:

Fantastic choice, I had the privilege of seeing them live in Manchester and they were fantastic!
