Work has started on The Cribs' fifth album, the follow-up to 2009's Ignore the Ignorant.
The band are in the studio but will break from recording sessions to indulge in the festival season.
They have dates in the diary at big events such as Glastonbury, T in the Park, Oxegen, Benicassim and Reading and Leeds.
Former guitarist of The Smiths and Modest Mouse Johnny Marr, who joined the band of brothers Ryan, Gary and Ross Jarman back in 2008, has told 6 Music there could be a bit of a change of direction to come from them.
"The new stuff, particularly that Ryan's coming up with is quite different. He'll kill me if I tell you," he explained.
We managed to get a bit more information out of him: "Well, Ryan's been playing some keyboards and he's got very inspired by it so it still sounds like the band and his lyrics are always really interesting.

"Gary's been doing some stuff in Portland, so it's all very healthy really. I'm excited about doing a new record."
Marr collected his Inspiration Award at the Ivor Novello Awards on Thursday 20 May.
"They've got a strong work ethic," he added. "We all take the business of being in The Cribs very seriously and I like being around that. There's no messing around, so we're all excited about it."
