It looks like a set from Vampire Weekend could be on the cards at this year’s sold out Glastonbury Festival between 25-27 June.
The indie band played live for Lauren Laverne this morning (15 Jan), and when asked about whether they would play Glastonbury’s 40th anniversary bash, they replied: "Sure, yes. Call us Emily. Come on!"
Festival organiser and regular 6 Music listener Emily Eavis then posted an offer of an opening night slot on Twitter, writing to Laverneshow: "Yes, Friday 25th?!"
The band have fond memories of playing the festival back in 2008, after the release of their first studio album.
"Playing Glastonbury the first time I think was totally a high point for us," he said. "That was the first time we played a really huge festival and it was incredible."

Vampire Weekend are back in the UK after this week's release of their sophomore album Contra.
To celebrate, they played a free open air show at Somerset House last night (15 Feb) and said they were dazzled by the venue.
"It was probably one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever played," said Ezra. "The sound went out for about 10 minutes but I think the audience understood and we kind of had a nice connection."
Chart hopes
The band's new album is on track for a number one in the charts in the States, and Top 5 in the UK this weekend, but the singer was sceptical as to whether it's in the bag just yet.
"You never know what’s going to happen," he said. "You never know who’s going to come out of the woodwork and it doesn’t matter. I’ve definitely got my heart set on a Top 100."
Their self-titled debut debuted at number 17 on the Billboard 200 and peaked at number 15 in the UK.
