MTV EMA winners
U2, Green Day, Placebo and Beyonce win big in Berlin

American rock trio Green Day were honoured at the MTV Europe Music Awards last night (05 Nov) with Best Rock Act, staving off competition from Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon and Linkin Park.
Hosted by Katy Perry, the bash took place in Germany’s capital, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Thanks to their colossal 360 degree tour, Best Live Act went to Irish rockers U2, who performed a special show at the Brandenburg Gate to mark the occasion.
Pop star Beyonce triumphed this year, scooping three trophies for Best Female, Best Song and Best Video while her husband Jay Z won in the Best Urban Act category.
American rapper Eminem went home with Best Male, while Placebo were named Best Alternative Act.
Linkin Park received the gong for Best World Stage Performance over nominees Coldplay, Kid Rock, Kings of Leon and Lady GaGa.
On the night, Beyonce, Jay Z, Green Day, Leona Lewis, Shakira and the Foo Fighters took to the stage for performances.

Tokio Hotel also performed their new single World Behind My Wall and it was one of the best performances of the night. At least you could have listed them with the others. Especially since they also won one of the bigger awards that night.
