Prolific garage-rockers line up next release for 2010
20 July 2009 - White Denim have revealed to 6 Music that they've already started working on album number three.

The trio, who recently released their new record Fits, said they already have enough material for a follow up.

"We're working on a companion piece to our new album," frontman James Petralli admitted.

"We're doing some southern prog style stuff and (drummer) Josh has some great poppy soul tunes that we'll probably work on."

The band have already released two LPs in the space of a year and they're planning to bring out their third album by the turn of 2010.
"We're still pretty broke so we don't have a lot of nice gear."

"We're at the stage now where we have a ton of ideas," Petralli enthused.

"It's just like trying to figure out what's going to make the best record."

The singer said they feel no pressure during recording sessions because they have their own space to lay down tracks in the form of Petralli's caravan, where both their 2008 debut Workout Holiday and Fits were made.

He added: "We're still pretty broke so we don't have lot of nice gear.

"But the caravan is a comfortable space and we don't have to rush through anything so we can just kind of relax and throw ideas around.

"We don't have to watch the clock."

'Cohesive record'

The band recently toured the UK where they showcased several tracks from their second album.

Petralli said the songs have been going down well with their fans and he claims that the record feels more complete than their debut.

"I think it's a more cohesive record," he argued.

"We kind of all have our moments on this one as well and it's slightly more representative of our live performances."

White Denim are due to return to the UK for the Reading and Leeds festivals later this summer.
