Yorke flies solo
Radiohead frontman plays Latitude
19 July 2009 - Thom Yorke drew one of the largest crowds at Latitude festival as he performed a special daytime solo set in Suffolk. The crowd, many of whom were still eating their breakfast, started to assemble at the Obelisk stage shortly after 10am when the singer began his soundcheck.
By the time he was ready to perform at noon, the numbers in the crowd equalled those that Grace Jones had drawn the previous night.
The 41 year old started his set with the title track from his 2006 album The Eraser.
"Radiohead are an amazing band, but to see him on his own was really exciting"Greeting the crowd, he told them "Sssh....there's people sleeping".

Standing on the sidelines was Nigel Godrich, long-time Radiohead producer, who was seen singing throughout the set.
Yorke surprised fans by not only playing solo material but also delving into Radiohead's back catalogue.
He played tracks such as Weird Fishes / Arpeggi and There There by building his own loops on a sampler. There was also a new track called Don't Leave and he ended his set with a song that was has never been recorded called True Love Waits.
