Singer Ed MacFarlance hints at recording a house side project
15 July 2009 - Friendly Fires frontman Ed MacFarlane has hinted at plans to record a dance side project.

The singer told 6 Music he recorded a series of electronica and house tracks before he joined the St Albans outfit and he is keen to write some beats in the future.

"I remember when I was 18 being obsessed with Warp Records and Skam Records," he enthused.

"I remember sending them a demo and they wanted to release it. It made my day."
"When I've got time I'd love to start writing more electronica and house."  Ed MacFarlane, Friendly Fires

The trio are set to appear at the Roundhouse in London tonight (15 July) for a special one-off show as part of the iTunes festival season.

"When I've got more time I'd love to start writing more electronica and house but Friendly Fires are my main priority at the moment and that is taking up a lot of my time," he added.

The band are due to release a one-off single entitled Kiss Of Life on 31 August and an expanded version of their debut along with a remix disc of all the group's singles so far and a live DVD.

Friendly Fires are also due to return to their hometown for a show at St Albans Arena on September 3.
