Blur frontman Damon Albarn

Blur's last show?

Damon Albarn and co end T In The Park with an air of uncertainty
13 July 2009 - Blur have hinted they may not perform together again after frontman Damon Albarn declared their headline slot at T In The Park was their "last gig".

The band, who returned to the three day festival for the first time since it began in Glasgow back in 1994, played a greatest hits set on the closing night despite almost pulling out after guitarist Graham Coxon fell ill with food poisoning.

"We nearly didn't make it, Graham walked out of a hospital to come here," Albarn told the crowd. "But he's all right. This is our last gig."

Earlier, Coxon twittered how he enjoyed oysters and mackerel in the run up to the show before hours later declaring: "Oh God that wasn't nice."

Blur, who arrived onstage an hour late, played a host of hits including Girls And Boys, Parklife, Country House, Coffee And TV, Song 2 and Tender.

Elbow bassist Pete Turner hailed the performance a huge success.

He told 6 Music: "It's great that they've done it, they just get better and better all the time."

Blur fans also admitted they were "blown away" by their closing performance.

"We were all a bit worried they wouldn't come," said one festival-goer.

"When they came on everyone was just so happy they were there and it was brilliant."

Earlier, Snow Patrol, Lily Allen and Keane also performed at Scotland's biggest music festival in Balado, Kinross-shire alongside Mogwai, Elbow and Doves.

Festival Organiser Geoff Ellis said: "It's been great to see so many people enjoying themselves and so many bands have commented to me after coming off-stage that the T in the Park audience is amongst some of the best they've played to in the world.

"This year's festival has had a really international vibe to it, not only in terms of the world-class artists performing, but with nationalities from throughout the globe attending."
